    Release time:2020-07-27

On July 23, the delivery ceremony of 12 large Xinjiang T16 plant protection UAVs donated by the Ministry of agriculture and rural areas to the Ministry of food security and research of Pakistan was held here at the Embassy of Beijing in China of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan. Ahmed, deputy office of Pakistan Embassy in China Mr. Farooq), a first-class inspector of the Department of international cooperation of the Ministry of agriculture and rural areas, mahongtao, director of Asia Africa division, xuyubo, director of global marketing and sales of agriculture in Xinjiang, and Zhongxin network, China Agricultural Mechanization Information Network, China Agricultural machinery promotion network, agricultural machinery quality and supervision, agricultural machinery technology promotion and other media participated in the delivery ceremony in Beijing.

Mahontao said China and Pakistan are all-weather strategic partnership, and the two peoples have always had a fine tradition of mutual help and mutual assistance. Since the locust infestation in February, the Ministry of agriculture and rural areas has paid great attention to the development of programs, experts, medicines and medicines, and supports Pakistan in fighting locust disasters. The donation of 12 large Xinjiang T16 plant protection UAVs, and a number of accessories and free technical training are provided to help Pakistan fight locust disaster and ensure Pakistan's food security. This is also another batch of locust materials that the Ministry of agriculture and rural areas has provided to Pakistan. In the follow-up, China will provide more assistance within its capabilities in accordance with Pakistan's needs and the changes in the situation of Locust Outbreaks.

According to mahongtao, in order to help Pakistan effectively control locust disasters and practice the concept of community of shared human destiny, the Ministry of agriculture and rural areas sent a grasshopper prevention and control working group to Pakistan on February 23, and has completed its mission back to Pakistan on March 5. According to the aid plan agreed by the working group and the Pakistani side, China sent two locust aid materials to Pakistan, including 250 tons of malathion pesticide and 36 traction efficient sprayers, to help Pakistan control locusts effectively. In March 9th, the first batch of aid materials arrived at Karachi Airport from Shanghai Pudong Airport, including 50 tons of malathion pesticide and 14 traction efficient sprayers.

Ahmed Farooq said that locust disasters are not uncommon in Pakistan history, but this time is the most serious in 27 years. These grasshoppers, which are more dense than bee colonies, eat grass and wood, destroy crops including cotton, wheat and corn, and make great losses to farmers, which have made great damage to the ecological environment, food security and national economy and people's livelihood. In response to this serious threat, the Pakistani government has declared a state of emergency throughout the country.

Pakistan and China have established a joint working group in the field of agricultural cooperation under the framework of China Pakistan Economic Corridor, according to Hamad Faruk. One of the important aspects is to strengthen cooperation in plant protection and pest control, including strengthening the locust prevention and control partnership. "Since the Chinese working group embarked on Pakistan's land, it has conducted field research on locust disaster in Sindh, Baluchi and Punjab provinces, providing strong technical support for the prevention and control of grasshopper disaster in Pakistan. After the T16 plant protection UAV in Xinjiang entered Pakistan, it can provide material and technical assistance to grasshopper experts in Pakistan effectively and solve the problem of locust disaster control from all dimensions." He said.

Chen Tao, director of global marketing and sales of agriculture in Xinjiang, said: "this time, T16 plant protection UAV delivered to Pakistan represents the most cutting-edge intelligent agricultural equipment in China, and can be recognized by the Ministry of agriculture and rural areas, and selected as the Pakistan aid equipment, which is both an honor and a responsibility. Xinjiang will also provide a batch of accessories and professional technical training with the UAV entering Pakistan, and fully cooperate with the expert team of the Ministry of agriculture and rural areas to complete the task of assistance to Pakistan. "

According to Chen Tao, the plant protection UAV has the advantages of high mobility, strong terrain adaptability and high safety compared with ground machinery, and has incomparable advantages in the prevention and control of locust disaster. Taking Dajiang T16 as an example, it has 16L load, and the spraying area can reach 150 mu per hour, which can realize full autonomous flight. Since this year, plant protection UAVs have played a key role in locust control. In February, the plant protection UAV has achieved successful experience in the control of locusts in Xinjiang, Shandong, Yunnan and other provinces. Xinjiang took the lead in releasing the UAV control technology plan (Chinese and English version); in May, Xinjiang was invited to participate in the China Pakistan Economic and trade cloud forum, and shared the UAV equipment and locust control technology plan to Pakistan. At the end of June, Jiangcheng County, Puer City, Yunnan Province found that bamboo locusts moved into the country and spread from the border to the surrounding counties. The local authorities adopted various methods to prevent and control the disease, including the plant protection UAV in Xinjiang, and achieved very good control effect.

Xuyubo, director of Asia Africa division of the Department of international cooperation of the Ministry of agriculture and rural areas, said: "the large Xinjiang plant protection UAV delivered here today is an innovation in the work of assisting the grasshopper control in Pakistan. We should choose the most advanced agricultural equipment in China to be applied to the grasshopper control work in Pakistan."

In recent years, with the advantages of high efficiency, low maintenance cost and intelligent, agricultural plant protection UAVs in Xinjiang have accelerated the pace of global market. At present, the market share covering more than 30 countries and regions in the world, especially in Japan, South Korea, Southeast Asia and other places is close to 70%, maintaining a high-speed growth trend. China's "one belt, one road" strategy is advancing. With the development of China's agricultural mechanization, the plant protection UAV is breaking through the bottleneck of China's high-end farm machinery and relying entirely on imports, leading a number of high-end intelligent agricultural equipment to the global market, and has gone out of a unique development path with Chinese characteristics.

It is understood that the locust disaster in East Africa began in january2020, and began to spread to East Africa, West Asia and South Asia, and spread to more than 10 countries, including Kenya, Ethiopia, Iran, Yemen, India and Pakistan, and has evolved into the most serious locust disaster in recent 20 years, and the food security of tens of millions of people has been threatened. On February 11, FAO issued an early warning to put the global high level of preparedness for locust abuse as one of the "top priority actions" to prevent food crisis in the invaded countries.
